Ward Union Hunt – Antler Challenge 2023
The Ward Union Hunt are thrilled to launch the Antler Challenge 2023, it is on Sunday 5th February at Primrose Park, Greenogue, Killsallaghan, Co Meath with kind permission of Joey & Emma Moore and their family. Joey is a Whip with the Fingal Harriers and a Member of the Ward Union Hunt. The venue is only a 15-minute drive from Dublin airport and 30 minutes from Dublin Port.
The Wards have a long association with Grand National winning jockey Paul Carberry who is a Whip with the Club, Paul is leading the course design. The course is styled on an old-fashioned Point to Point, jumping over natural hedges and ditches at a fast pace. If you are up for the challenge, there are limited entries so get your entry in as entries are filling up fast. There will also be a Junior Antler Challenge before the main event. Entries are €150 and €50 for the Junior Antler Challenge. Riders will wear racing colours.
Previously the Antler Challenge was held at Rodanstown outside Kilcock in 2011 when it was won by Ben Brabazon from the Westmeath Hunt and in 2012 when it was won by Paul Scallan from the Killinicks. At this year’s event there will again be various categories including first Lady Rider home and first Ward Union Member. Updates can be found on the Ward Union Hunt facebook page.
